Phoenix

Let me start off by giving a big thanks to Tommy for driving with me and helping me out. Couldn't have done it without you.

Anyway, there's an entry down below about friday night so I'll skip that part. We woke up bright and early Saturday and began our trip. I don't think I fully realized just how far Arizona was from Chicago. We ended up making great time on Saturday and got about 1,100 miles in one day. Pretty incredible. I think both of us were so sick of the drive we just wanted it over with.

Funniest part of the trip was when we were driving past some cows. About 20 of them were huddled around in a big circle. One single cow was a couple feet away looking at them. We spent the next 20 minutes thinking up idiotic captions that could go along with the scene. Too bad we didn't snap a picture.

Glad to say that Sofia handled the trip flawlessly. At one point I let her stretch her leggs when an Altima wanted to play. I shut it down at just over 120 when I was just crawling up his trunklid. Hhahah.

Second funniest part of the trip. Just before we got to Arizona, Tommy mentioned that all he wanted to see was a cactus. So, we get to Arizona and Tommy was like "maybe I won't see one" and seemed kind of down. So, we eventually get to the mountains and he finally sees one. Not the big type, the small ones that are kinda roudish on the side of the road. I didn't even see it. So then I got into the act and was like "I want to see one of those big tall ones". To which he replied "Yeah me too but I don't think we'll see one, I'll be happy that I saw the small one." Boy were we in for a suprise. It wasn't 10 minutes later that we turned a corner, looked up and the hills were covered with those tall cacti. Lol, after a while Tommy looked over and goes "it's not even special anymore" HAHHAHAH

The new job is going pretty well. It always takes a little time to adjust. I've met some good people so I think I'll be ok. It was a bit of a leap of faith comming down here but I think my comfort level has gotten a lot better now that I'm here and seeing what my life will be like.
