promise: a declaration that something will or will not be done, given, etc., by one
We've all made them, we've all broken them. When you make a promise, how do you know you'll be able to keep it? Things change, time goes by and the world marches on.
On one hand, you have your word, the unwaivering intention to stick to what you've given another. On the other hand, you have the unpredictability of the future. I guess I've always felt like I needed to keep, or at least tried very hard to keep the promises I've made. For the most part, this has worked out very well for me. Ultimately, noone knows what the future holds.
